Mathematics

This preliminary course takes place every year before the start of the winter term (beginning of October).

Physics

This preliminary course takes place every year before the start of the winter term (beginning of October).

Python

For all participants of the lecture Artificial Intelligence for Biotechnology (Summer Term 2026), we are offering a Python Precourse to refresh and consolidate your programming skills.

The Artificial Intelligence for Biotechnology lecture requires fundamental programming knowledge in Python. Fundamental concepts will not be repeated during the course itself, so we strongly recommend attending this precourse if you feel unsure about your current level.

Contents of the precourse

  • Python basics
  • Working with strings, lists and dictionaries
  • Conditional expressions and loops
  • Functions and File IO
  • Introduction to object-oriented programming

Schedule and location

  • Dates: Monday, March 23 – Thursday, March 26, 2026
  • Time: 08:15 – 17:00 each day
  • Room: U2, Uferstraße 53

The course combines short theoretical lectures with hands-on programming and exercise sessions. A detailed timetable will be available on the Moodle page.

You may join online if necessary; however, for the best learning experience we strongly recommend participating on site, where you can directly ask questions and receive assistance during exercises.
