With our pioneering spirit, we create entrepreneurial ideas and turn them into successful startups with societal impact. We provide a network and apply the skills acquired from our interdisciplinary studies – driven by innovation, passion, and sustainability. In the process, we grow with the challenges we face, gain experience, and develop as a team and on an individual level.
Our founding history
Enactus Straubing was founded in fall of 2020, so it is a young initiative at the campus with a strong network nationwide as well as globally. With around 60 members from five different study programs, we present a diverse group of engaged students, willing to create sustainable impact through projects.
What is Enactus?
We are a young and engaged team, that develops and realizes projects to fulfil the 17 sustainability goals of the UN. We are proud to represent Straubing as part of the worldwide Enactus network, which includes over 1.500 universities from 37 different countries. Our teams focus on finding solutions to combat malnutrition in Indonesia, food waste in Bavaria, and providing low-cost menstrual products.
What does Enactus do?
We create startups with social and sustainable impact that are still profitable to thrive in the economic environment. You will be able to gain practical experience of organizing a team, tasks and much more without the pressure of failure. You can apply your study content directly, whether you study in business or rather technical programs at Uni because of the diverse fields we address. Enactus World and Enactus Germany regularly hold events (workshops, competitions, accelerators…) you will be able to travel to and see impact on a large scale.
Our current Projects
-
Bleedies (formerly Free Bleeding)
Our Enactus project develops a solution to the high costs, availability of period products and the lack of sex education.
We print advertisement on period products to provide free access to self-financing period products. By partnering with companies, we turn hygiene products into marketing instruments, benefiting both sides.Through direct collaboration with social and public institutions, we increase visibility, reduce infection risks, and raise awareness—helping to reshape the perception of menstruation. By raising awareness, we create a new, positive perception of menstruation and make Germany a safe space for all menstruating.
-
CityVal
The project City Vital fights the increasing heat in cities and the loss of biodiversity with green and sustainable architectural solutions. By installing green sun sails, we expect and want to cool down the cities thanks to the vegetation and absorb carbon dioxide. This greening also has a positive effect on insect life in urban areas and at the same time counteracts the grey cityscape.
-
Blitzbill
Every year, 8.3 million kilometers of thermal paper are printed – in Germany alone.
Much of it is discarded immediately. Since the introduction of the receipt issuance obligation. Our goal is to create a user-friendly digital solution that replaces traditional paper receipts – without the need for an app, registration, or internet connection. We are developing software that is directly integrated into the point-of-sale system and automatically generates a digital receipt for every purchase.
How can you be part of Enactus?
Twice a year, at the beginning of each semester, we have a recruiting phase to find new members. We would love for you to join us, no matter if you already have an idea or not – we are looking for motivated people who want to make a difference in a fun environment without any pressure for success.
